Project- Time Runner (Houdini)
Just the other day I had an idea that I have started working on. It is basically a figure running against time, losing bits of itself along the way. I stuck to Houdini for this one. Its been a while since I worked on a proper 3D animation so it took me a bit to reorient myself with the VEX code (the basics).
I ran into some hurdles along the way- mostly the animation part. I wanted to cycle the animation and I hadn’t worked with CHOPs (Channel operators) in Houdini. I also had a hard time figuring out a way to make this figure follow a given path. I posted on the SideFX forum but my patience was running thin, so I figured a workaround myself the next day. Now I have a nice figure (downloaded from Mixamo
) running in circles against the hand of a clock.
